He was nominated and elected before he had a chance to protest. aaron: The bins by the door have been reallocated. The multics docs have been moved to the wooden shelves with the other multics docs. aaron: More unnecessary papers might be moved at any time. jik and aaron will figure out what to do with the docs on the wooden shelves. where do magazines, printed out things go? office: "Throw them away." Athena Report: snorkelwacker is limping 6.0. ambar: jtkohl had a new kernal which was installed on bloom-beacon ... subsequently beacon could not find its root partition. The now modified new kernal will be tried again when things settle down. eichin: dialup successfully rebooted itself once (it checks 4 times a day for users and reboots, mailing the date, df, and a copy of the attachtab if noone is logged in). the motd will be changed to ask users not to run scheme and maxima when dialup is busy. amgreene: europa now prints coversheets (linus queue was stopped until athena agreed to fix it). raeburn:9700 software patched so output files run with current software so we won't need multics for that anymore. jeff harrington's account is set up with operator groups that can handle that. lpr -Px9700 prints on holed paper.... Computer Services: There have been rumors that multics was sold. We got laserwriter cartrdges. Telecommunications Report: the rec is being sorted out by the treasurer, evidently an account number okayed by previous treasurer is not ours according to Kathy Allen. dialup problems: this morning all 8 lines to ringworld were in use. You can get to charon from 7226, 7225, 7224, the old staff lines. We are going to hook them to the 258-sipb hunt group. When we have multiple machines, we can set up a hunt group farming off to each machine. We need to go to e40 and negotiate. Publications Report: ambar suggests jik and aaron update the office manual.
