CokeComm Report: Coke will be ordered soon (theoretically). Chairman's Report: bzzp Office Report: "It's clean" -jik. "Although I was quoted as having said that, .... it is not true; the office is a sty. ... " -jik There is discussion of getting a new refrigerator. Money is a problem. People are dubious. Jik wants to vote on this issue at a meeting that has more people. Athena Report: APC upgrades are happening this week. The swat teams have arrived. SMS cutover is almost complete. SMS will be available any day now. The carpet between Mark Rosenstein's and Jeff Schiller's office is warn and not too bloody. Discussion insues about 6.0C upgrades and the related hardware (APC) issues. (When does the upgrade require reinstall...) Request for "flame offline". Computer Services: ...... Still waiting for information about the possible Mac II with A/UX. Where do we put it? Maybe a VT100 will be retired to make space. Ken, Stan, and maybe Jon will be writing a paper about discuss for Usenix. We have a user on VMA who has spent $1624 since July. (Michael Jacobs) Get him to the meeting to find out what to do. Send him mail telling him that he has until Friday to respond or his account will be shut down. Telecommunications Report: We still need two phones. In general, the phones don't work. (Jon Rochlis's doesn't work, and he's telecommunications....) Some dorm line features don't work... Publications Report: We need copies of everything for the freshmen. Nancy is working on the LaTeX guide. R/O Report: Four terminals and four modems wanted for R/O stuff. We have Vadic. The terminals and modems were lent out n months ago as part of our terminal lottery. We seem to have lost track of the names? The midway is on Wednesday night at 7:00. There is discussion that it might not be worth putting too much effort into this... Rob wants there to be a poll on whether there should be a SIPB tour. There seems to be agreement that such a thing should happen. IAP Report: We will have 3600's by then. Other: qjb asked about election; it seems that there isn't a good way of moving it forward. Other Other: TAB-# or just # ([1-9]) should be used to turn down the volume for Crystal Quest. "Show the freshmen a good time" -- Donald. RT clusters are closed for a few days.
