Chairman's Report: There is a new PostScript Redbook out, for about $24. Opinion is that we should probably get it. The book describing "Type 1" fonts, called the Blackbook, is also out. Opinion is that it is a good idea to get that too. amgreene is taking over "BarryComm", or "Whither SIPB?" committee. He is shooting for a meeting on Thursday. Office Report: jcbourne asked the people in the Campus Activities Complex (W20-500) if it'd be ok for us to put up a sign saying to take deliveries to them if we're not around. MIT Computing Report: Fileserver Hectate now running 7.2P. Computer Services: Our PS/2 works, except for klee. bjaspan built stuff like xzwrite, zpunt, and xroot. It's slow because it has to go through afs-nfs translation. No word on disk space for building software for PS/2. dkk reinstalled steve as a normal public workstation, 7.1H. Needs to be privatized. 70Meg hard drive, 40meg swap partition. Podge seems to be ok now, now that it has new body. Ronald-Ann Backup Report: Neither srz or warlord is here. marc will deal. We haven't tried to read our backups yet. Publications Report: Stuff in the sipbdoc directory is ancient. It should be cleanuped, etc. bjaspan volunteers to deal. R/O Report: '() IAP Report: Classes report: 1) perl report was "canned". dkk borrowed overhead projector from Athena, and also used transparencies from Athena. 2) GWM starts tomorrow. 3) PostScript is also this week. CokeComm Report: bjaspan is still trying to deal with Coke. Also, if you want to be CokeComm, be his guest... Other: USEnix is next week. One MIT person going.
