SIPB-EC received email from a Harvard newspaper and the Tech asking for comment on jonmon's matchup and whether we were going to support it again next year; we replied saying that we were happy with whatever stopit and the appropriate authorities decided. Anyone interested in this further should read the sipb-ec discuss archive. Office Report: hartmans: We have toys: the film scanners. golem: I tried to destroy it but I do not think I succeeded. hartmans: Did anyone come up with a cardwriter proposal? golem: No. That was jhawk's plot. Also I think he finally ordered a digitial camera but it is not here yet. Office Cleaning Report: MIT Computing Report: golem: Isn't there a patch going out today? hartmans: Security fixes. Computer Services: hartmans: I did the work I needed to do to make a stable PGI install for sipb-debian. I now need to talk to myself about licensing so that SIPB can use it. Also Alejandro approached me today with some interesting ideas about sipb-debian and knoppix. golem: What is knoppix? hartmans: It's a CD you boot that runs Linux without touching disk. It puts /tmp in RAM. It doesn't suck. golem: Sort of neat. SIPB Backup Report: golem: No news is good news. ...That's such a questionable statement. Publications Report: golem: We suck. We don't have anything. nim: We don't publish things. golem: We are out of iMatlab, iLaTeX. jhawk: No! We are not out of iLaTeX. golem: We are out of whatever was in iUsenet/bitmaps, but we should really relabel it. We are down to one iAthena. Anyone want to deal?
