Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 05/30/2005


The meeting was called to order at 19:29 by arolfe.

In attendance were

Treasurer's Report:
	arolfe: We have about $1000 left of which Jen Tu should spend
		$500 on tshirts.

Office Report:
	cporter: It's a little less of a pit this time.
	arolfe: We got two new computers: one mac and one PC.  
	merolish: cj is now awesome.
	melodylu@gmail.com: Ooh, I've never seen one of those in person.

Office Cleaning Report:	

MIT Computing Report:
	danjared: There was a mail outage this morning.

Computer Services:
	jhawk: scripts had a two-hour outage this morning due to an AFS
		kernel module issue.
	hartmans: I think you can set it to panic on those.

Publications Report:
	merolish: We look good.

Orientation Report:
	cporter: Did we get our stuff in for the deadline?
	jhawk: Yes.

IAP Report:
	ike: IAP is sooner than you think.	

CokeComm Report:	

Other:
	merolish: I haven't submitted my master's thesis yet, but I'm
		leaving MIT on Saturday in any case.

Other Other:
	danjared: Dr. Angie Dr. Angie Dr. Angie
	jhawk: The new George Martin book is finally done.  Sort of.
	glasser: Sun came out.
	hartmans: I was looking through papers that I'd helped write and
		discovered that Kerberos had a critical security flaw
		reported in 1988 and fixed in 1996.  
	merolish: We learned about that in 6.033.
