Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 2011-01-17


The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by jhamrick.

        jhamrick: It is halfway through IAP. There are not that many
                people here, but you guys are here!

SIPB Project Updates:
        geofft: Last night the SQL project took a new snapshot of all
                of the tables on the primary. We are going to set up a
                new secondary in a couple days and backups will suck
                less.

        quentin: XVM survived Mystery Hunt.
        geofft: Scripts arguably did.
        bbaren: Are there load graphs?
        geofft: Alex and I have been working on an RPM build server
                based on koji. We're making progress on a koji server
                for SIPB, and we can build packages on it?
        achernya: It works, it's alive.

Other:
        dhaus: Was there an allocation for Russell and Nordig?
        jhamrick: Yes. Bug me after the meeting.

        geofft: Debathena Trainees is Wed and Fri in 3-133 from 5-8
                with office hours to follow. Debathena Hackathon on
                Saturday from 1pm or whenever we wake up.
        kaduk: Live CDs after the hackathon?
        geofft: Someone could work on them! We may have to remove
                OpenOffice, but that's just sad.

Other Other:
        jhamrick: It was mystery Hunt this weekend! The coin was found
                by Codex Alimentarius. It was awesome.

        cesium: Someone zephyred -c sipb over the weekend asking for
                equipment relating to a hunt puzzle.
        geofft: 2 to -c sipb and one to -help. That's why that machine
                is open and a floppy drive is next to it.

        geofft: These are the print smarter signs. Don't waste paper,
                kids.
        bbaren: Why?
        geofft: They are out of date and wrong.
        bbaren: Should we remove them?
        geofft: If you want to, but I'll get around to it soon enough.
        jhawk: Should we let you know if you do?
        geofft: Let me know.

        jhawk: There's a bug in the LaTeX thesis template with respect
                to its sample bibliography entries.
        geofft: They don't actually point at each other.

        kaduk: LSC's 33rd SciFi marathon is this weekend! Featuring I,
                Robot, 12 Monkeys, X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and
                Independence Day.
