A week from tomorrow I'm cluedumping on PGP and GnuPG, similar to woodrow's cluedump two years ago. 2-143 at 8PM. vehanus: In fact, cluedumps are happening tomorrow. duncant: It's gonna be about Bitcoin. The first half is Bitcoin for people who don't like crypto, and the second half is Bitcoin for people who do like crypto. vehanus: Two wonderful topics! afarrell: We had the hackathon, The Great Hacksby. There is going to be another hackathon this coming Saturday, from geofft, which is a Debian/Debathena bugsquashathon. dwilson: It is explicitly intended as such. achernya: All Scripts physical hosts run Squeeze. [Yay.] Unfortunately we are still on Fedora 13 moving to Fedora 15. But we are almost ready. They'll be ready when we do the cutover. Project Updates =============== gurtej: I worked on BarnOwl, dealing with the case when your text is really long. It's mostly working, but there are some issues with redrawing the edit text window. steb: I worked on Cron pony, which lets you edit cronjobs from scripts. We're still working on Django, but the parsing is ready, and we have some basic forms for editing. afarrell: SIPB VOIP is being reborn, thanks to ahailes, quentin and geofft. The server is up named joybubbles, and I'm working on getting wakeup.mit.edu rewritten in Flask instead of shell. [jhawk: Did captain-crunch break?] [quentin: Hardware was ancient, we upgraded it.] jdreed: Debathena had some things, and we didn't scare people off! The owl's eyes now blink, thanks to bbaren. We are still working on other things. [jhawk: Full moon?] [indistinct] People interested in Debathena should come to the cluedump on October 18, at 7:30pm, in 3-133, entitled "Getting Started With Debathena Development. dennison: I worked on DormBase, an idea to create one common open source dorm management system. Using Python and Django, I worked on a status board for Simmons, for the LCD boards, like NextBus. rsloan: I was working on a web interface for Scripts autoinstalls, which is not finished. Other ===== afarrell: This Thursday, in 32-144, DevShop will be happening. People will be working on projects from 10pm to 2am. I'm hoping to get good attendance from SIPB. kaduk: Last week, I belatededly mentioned OpenAFS 1.6.0. Now, I get to belatedly announce 1.7.1, which is a new branch of development releases, targeting Windows support. [whoa]. Now it presents as a native filesystem to Windows, rather than a Samba mount over local loopback. Much improved on Windows 7. jhawk: Recently, I was travelling around Boston, but NextBus wasn't integrated with MBTA mapping directions. Since the busses were nowhere near on schedule, I was stuck in the middle of nowhere. Is there any service for integrating this data? [achernya: Google Transit does this] [quentin: They get the feed, but I don't know if they use it.] meeting adjourned at approximately 7:40. Minutes taken and submitted by ezyang.
