Administrivia
=============

glasgall: This is a periodic announcement that drawers exist. I'm garbage collecting the zulip folks drawers on their request.

lfaraone: I propose that we update the guest acct sponsership policy in accordance with the text I have sent to SIPB:

  Once the account has been approved, the Vice-Chair or his delegate
  should send an e-mail to accounts@ with the information from items 1
  and 2 above. The message should be carbon-copied to sipb-ec@.

  After the sponsored account has been registered by the sponsoree, the
  sponsor should record the account sponsorship via RCS in
  /afs/sipb/admin/text/guest-accounts/guest-accounts.txt.

    Motion passes with a white ballot.

vasilvv: I move to allocate for 2x 1 TB hard drives for replacing hard drives and slides and a stick of RAM. I plan to use this to prototype ToastFS, a distributed file system. The total should be around $300.

    Motion passes by white ballot.

dove: April Glasser from the EFF will be showing up today to discuss TidBit and activism.

dvorak42: I'd like to allocate $50 for machine room ext cords.

    Motion passes with a white ballot.

Project Updates
===============

andreser: The MIT PGP signing service is getting deployed next week. Another project, dename, a decentralized first come first serve name service is also getting deployed globally soon.

lfaraone: I am no longer the maintainer of SIPBvoip, so it needs a maintainer. It's intended to be the Scripts of MIT Voip. It could exist if you want it to.

dove: LibrePlanet happened. It was fun. There were lots of people there.
achernya: At LibrePlanet, I talked to Paultag about zfs on linux and almost certainly changed his mind to make the package not be rejected if they fix the other policy issues in the package.

asuhl: So I have an idea for a project, a scrolly LED sign for the Office, that might face outside or inside. It would be controlled by a server that chooses what message. I did a quick look, looks like the sign is about 2ft by 4 in with a serial interface for $109 that comes with PC software to program it. There are cheaper ones that I found that are smaller with attached keypads. I'd like to allocate for it.

    Allocation passes with a white ballot.

vasilvv: We now have build scripts. We beleive that by the end of the week we will have fully built Trusty Tar.`
