They currently have either a positive or negative balance that needs to be zeroed. alvareza: ...Office Czar? All right, so I have assailed the position of Office Czar and am now Office Commissar. Let me know if you have issues with the office mcyoung: We need to sort out all the drawers that are full of cruft stuff alvareza: I want to do that, yeah mcyoung: Please report on your progress as time goes on Project Reports: achernya: Scripts seems to have a bit of a mail queue and a bit of an expiring SSL certificate, I tried to get in but ssh hung and I haven't had time to sort it out mcyoung: When do I get my TLS certificate? achernya: In 0 -9 days! Scripts would like volunteers...you should come talk to Scripts maintainers. This is still useful, we still need to port Scripts to Hyades cela: We have a working cluster for Hyades, we've merged about 15000 lines of code, still being merged, lots of things are happening now achernya: How long did that take to produce? cela: About a month achernya: That is impressively fast khaines: Due to difficulties booking a classroom the first Cluedump will be October 4 ejchiu: We got 6 replies for classes for SIPB IAP. There's a few questions people asked I'm not sure about mcyoung: Send me an email with more specifics ejchiu: Can I get a list of people who taught last year? mcyoung: Go to sipb.mit.edu/iap2017 Other: mcyoung: Arthur, thanks for buying the pretzel sticks. You are a wonderful yet terrible human being. Does anyone else want pretzel sticks? Please take them away from me. I'm beginning a rant emmabat: Do you want it documented? mcyoung: Yes. Today I received an email from Kit, saying she wasn't an event signatory. I look at this, and I'm like shit. I tell Lizhou to deal with it, he doesn't have bits. I look at the ASA website and attempt to give Kit the relevant bits. It used to be easy, and because I'm SIPB chair I could change all the things. Now I can see no way for me to do this. There's a bunch of useless shit I will never need. vasilvv: You can write secret notes near every member of your student group, give them tags, sub-group tags, to-do lists. mcyoung: [discussion of various DB inaccuracies] Under each member it lists administrative roles. There's a bunch of random people with reservation signatory -- Van does not. All are marked as Imported with Excel. Everyone but me and Kit has membership expiring December 31st, I can change that though. You can set yourself as your own parent organization vasilvv: It also allows you to link to your Facebook page, your Twitter page, your Google plus page, your Instagram, your Youtube Channel...lots of other questions, like allow members to remove themselves from group...most of the buttons were locked out, some were completely useless, but the entire website didn't have a single useful page mcyoung: Me and Victor were sitting in a Google conference room laughing our asses off vasilvv: Oh and lots of fancy popups, at least 3 or 4 means of tagging people, and membership verification whatever that means mcyoung: You get sent to an error page if you click on the administrative tags! I would like to observe that ASA paid large sums of real money for this. I am unhappy. khaines: Permission to reserve rooms under Engineering Activism? mcyoung: I don't care. slz: Oh and for a full semester they couldn't approve new student groups while this was happening mcyoung: Let it be known that the SIPB chair is formally disappointed *several former SIPB chairs proclaim disappointment* achernya: I was going to say I've seen the ASA do worse, but I'm not sure anymore bpchen: Django v2 alpha has been released. JavaScript with Ruby syntax version 2 is out mcyoung: Leave. Now vasilvv: I hope you're proud khaines: Rust has surprisingly good Regex support *argument between khaines and mcyoung over Regex in Rust* *achernya bangs gavel* slz: I think after Facebook's licensing fiasco they're putting most stuff back under MIT license. React and friends were under BSD and a special patenting license and everyone was upset so they gave up mcyoung: It is the one true license slz: The newest version of Ubuntu has entered final beta phase. *explanation of Debathena and cluster computers* Talk to me if you want to help bring Debathena to the latest version mcyoung: If you're at all familiar with Debathena you should probably give a Cluedump about it. Please talk to Kit *Cluedump gets planned for October 11* gmfk07: The SIPB chair may be disappointed in this. Adobe seems to have released their public security key...and their private security key online. On the slightly bright side, the key itself was encrypted with a password. slz: In other happy security news, it looks like the Cubs web interface has a double free bug that could allow remote code execution. If you're on Linux you should probably disable the web interface, if you're on Mac it's disabled by default Other Other: wqian94: I learned that a few years ago the NSA became able to crack like a third of the Internet achernya: I'm happy to report that Australia does exist and it's all right side up wqian94: Also if you have Pokemon Sun and Moon there's currently a mystery Pikachu going around mcyoung: WHAT *pulls out DS* mcyoung: Please send me the instructions wqian94: Lucy and I were discussing an outing with the Pokemon League for a showing of the 20th Pokemon movie. There's another giveaway online for megastones mcyoung: Why isn't Lucy telling me any of this shit? wqian94: I tell Lucy about this slz: The Ignobel Prize happened last week. "IgNobel Awards Cermony features vaginal music player" wqian94: On a darker note there's a mass genocide in Myanmar causing people to flee mcyoung: I keep getting emails about people freaking out about shit going down in Puerto Rico wqian94: Also things going down in Mexico City, an earthquake killed a bunch of schoolkids The meeting was adjourned at 20:00.
