Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 2018-07-30


The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by alvareza.

Administrivia:

        alvareza: There's been a lot of discussion recently on an early-stage proposal, I'm currently looking through everything and figuring out what our next best steps are, as such I will be trying to schedule another EC meeting soon, then we'll discuss things like rush planning, and also the Future Direction of SIPB. If you've got something that you want to share with the SIPB leadership, you can send an email to SIPB or send an email to me, I'd be happy to hear your opinions and ideas, I think there's a lot of potential positive change that we can make, I feel like as a student group we can begin experimenting more with the way that we operate, after all we are a student group and mistakes is the only way we can change, so even if we do make mistakes...
        
        emmabat: Everyone would've forgotten them in four years.
        
        alvareza: So we've got to figure out how to preserve our identity as a student group, while adapting what to what it means to be a student group.
        
        mcyoung: Does that mean we can set fire to the Circus Maximus, or...
        
        alvareza: No, don't set fire to anything, we are not the spinning arts club.
        
        ikdc: Okay we've figured out who we are, let's move on.
