CBF wanted to know why we are going directly to the provost rather than to Wes; because then Wes wouldn't be able to fund other organizations. It needs a dollar amount. The letter to Physical Plant went out. There is a letter to Zenith about the bad keyboards on the board. Wednesday afternoon WER and Corbato' are going to see Dean Wilson. Talk to her if you have ideas for this. Talk to WER if you have any ideas for something that could be done to fill the void left by 6.030's disappearance. We got a report from Corbato' about the plans for a campus network. it is in received letters. Office Report: Now that WER has taken a picture of the freezer's skier we can defrost the freezer. WER added hanging folders for some of the sophomores. KAM has suggested "Pat Coolie" as the generic name for the office contact (which you would give to repairmen). Her apologies to PLJ. Barmar talked about how people haven't been following the instructions on how to run the SpinWriter. Computer Services: ARCS is now charging for any consulting over 15 minutes, at $30/hour (minimum of 1 hour). Do we want to fund this? No. We should state this on the policy statement, and we should send a letter to Dorothy Corbett stating this and asking that a letter be posted in the PAI office. In the case of 370 questions which we are not qualified to answer, the user would have to pay for himself. Telecommunications Report: There are two terminals at Heath that have been repaired. We will have to pay $129 each. Someone should walk a purchase order through. HDT will do it. Naha thinks that we should ask Zenith to reimburse us. The RS-232 stuntbox is missing. Whoever has it should return it. The broken new VT100's should be treated as if we had actually purchased. They are currently on warrantee, and they should be put on service contract. If noonone beats him to it, CBF will write a section in the office manual on how to call terminals in. Whenever you call in a DEC terminal, give them the service contract number, whether they ask for it or not. DCP will bring up the concentrator software when we get the necessary hardware. We now have a chaosnet transceiver; all we need is a power supply. We will tell DCP to get going as soon as we get one (hopefully before he goes away for three weeks).
