Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 11/5/79 The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by CAH. In attendance were BSG, HGA, ACW, Jon Taft, NAHA, Newton Lui, RLL, CAH, GMP, Richard Soley, WER, DCP, KHS, and RDM. Late were archy, ALAN, and DPC. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted as changed. Treasurer's Report: We spent $5147 last month; $780 this past week. Fifty percent of SIPADMIN's costs were disk charges; clean up what you can. CokeComm was run today. Chairman's Report: The chairman talked to Roger Roach about the NEC spinwriter; more talking is to be done. ALAN, archy and DPC came in at this point. Office Report: The office is a mess. The loft needs work. 370 Report: /* Multics Report: WOS is back, with a magtape containing five copies of PASCAL. It is voting time for the author maintained library (AML) on Multics; if you use anything there, vote for it! So far, only SIPB members have voted (and no one has voted for the consistent system.) The contract with Honeywell is still not signed. Two new disk drives have arrived; one of them is installed. CISL has a new employee; archy! ECS Report: () CS Report: () Telecommunications Report: We haven't gotten the Student Center telerays fixed yet; still trying. Ribbons have been ordered for the spinwriter. There is a switch to use the other side of cloth ribbons; don't throw them away! Publications Report: Green cards need to be done. Job listings were not done this week; they should be done weekly. Annual Report Report: The Telecommunications report must still be done. Others also; please finish them. (Multics, et. al.) IAP Report: People are already showing up for the LISP course! We will start a list. Also, tell people to come to the first meeting of the class. If you are interested in working on the programming contest, speak to ALAN. Other: NAHA can get his hands on an ARDS terminal for possible small amounts of money. We will look into it. Course 6 social hour tomorrow. Applications: Warning form: Jeremy Barkan, for working on a newsletter that was explicitly forbidden on his application. Warning form: Chinese Student Club, Fortran segments in home dir; they were given money for membership lists. They were given com_to_office. Note, this was there third warning form. When they come in, if they still want money, they must come to meeting. Note: people coming in for money for 16.001 should be considered carefully; it looks like they are sending the whole class to us explicitly. EC vote: Linda Lampron, $50, for editing resume. Given. The sun will set along the infinite corridor next Monday! Avoid the crowds, watch it on the third floor!!! Benson left money for mailings to him (he has gone back.) ECS plots should be retrieved from dispatch and split up for each ECS user, and names and dates should be written on the separated rolls in the holder to the left of HBD. There was a Halloween party at archy's (guess when.) There was a refridgerator drop from the Green building (yes, the 18th floor) a few nights ago. Arghhh.
