Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of April 21, 1980. The meeting was called to order at 19:35 by archy. In attendance were RLL, RK, ACW, RDM, BSG, WER, ZRM, ALAN, DCP,Barmar, JSL, Archy, CAH, Gonzo, Jay Pattin, KHS, and DPC. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted. Treasurer's Report: RLL distributed bills to all the members who owe the SIPB money. As of April 20,$7357.37 was spent on SIPB projects. Phone bills came, people need to claim calls. Chairman's Report: Chairman continued writing letter to Gray. He talked to Jean Bonney about the center buying Spin-wronger. She agreed after being reminded of the situation. Jean feels she may have credited the SIPB for all quality print use last month, SIPB and non-SIPB. Rodger Roach needs someone to show somebody from England around the Tute. Chairman volunteered for this. Office Report: Frig was fixed (fan frobby was broken). Old frig was sold to Jay Pattin. Runoff documentation is now a part of the MPM (due to the latest addendum). Spin-wronger ribbons are here (in multitude). Spin-wronger cover sheets have been moved to file cabinets (under "current cover sheets". DCP and ZRM were asked to pool the cruft in their drawer. People need to be careful when they cancel quality print output. A user lost this week. RK reported that the office T.V. was in use for several hours by a total random. The office phone was also used by a random. This generated much unnecessary flamage. Flamage on the proper way to new_user a person. Computer Services: 1000 records of nbdd were bought. The weekly report seems to have disappeared. It was indeed printed. CS Report: recompiled but still losing. Telecommunications Report: RLL has requisition for graphics terminal. Random Hall terminal is working but blows fuzes often. Student Center printer still doesn't recover from FNP crashes. LA-120 went down today. ADM-3A will be ordered this week. Flamage in a effort to decide what is to be done with the terminal which will become available when the graphics terminal arrives. Basic argument is a dormitory versus a 24-hour place. Thoughts of opening a new terminal room. Motion to put the displaced Teleray in SIPB office and investigate getting a high-speed line for it. Passes. JSL claims that air-conditioner in Stu-cen is inadequate. Publications Report: Emacs handouts being worked on by JSL. Publicity Report: Tech ad being done by Gonzo. cc| came in at this point. Other Other: RK suggests turning in keys found in basement of building 36 to Campus Patrol. People at CISL now know what the fire alarm there sounds like. It powere down everything in the machine room. RLL and RK have an apartment in Watertown to be occupied at the end of the month. Should Coop but 1000 records of nbdd? (asks RLL). No says (CAH). DCP reports DDT got wedged today. Don't use LISP on ITS, use XLISP. Penny is getting an apartment with Moon in North Cambridge.Random hall terminal just blew a fuse.
