Treasurer's Report: April Spending: Multics: $12,154.73, SIPB/SIPBADMIN $2059.97 VM/370: $389.78 JCF: No bills, He'll have to check. Total: $12,544.51, Last Year: $10,041.65 Year through end of April: $89,115.38, Last Year: $102,095.17 MTD Multics $2332.41 YTD except May 370 and May JCF etc: $91,447.79 Phone bills will be ready in a few days. WMY moved to move the June 1 cutoffs to July 1, since we can afford to let people keep using it after the end of the term. c/ doesn't think people will assume that their accounts will be gone after June 1, so it won't have much an effect on our spending. CBF thinks that people who want to use accounts after the end of the term will come in and ask for accounts. Jay thinks that most of the spending after the end of the term will be for disk storage. RK thinks that we can spend the extra money on more worthwhile projects, such as development, manuals, and annual report. Jay thinks that there will be a large enough demand for new accounts after the end of the term, if it is anything like last year. The motion failed. WER and WMY will work on next year's budget. Chairman's Report: WMY found his cat. New bank signature cards should be filled out. We should also change JJ's password. Jay doesn't think that we should use generate_password to pick a password. Office Report: PLJ will be office manager, now that Lai is secretary. There is a message holder in the office. We should find a place for it. Continuation forms have TWO sections. Use them. Do we still want to use the SIPB Logbook? Yes. Use the logbook even if you use a TTR. Alan suggests that we put all the TTRs in a binder. CBF will make up a history form for each terminal. Fiche should be put in the fiche-box. Coke-com has been run. Pay up. Computer Services: There is a rumor that 6.030 is going away. Pressure should be put on Course VI to keep it. DCP will find out what is going on. Our documentation says that you should ask the operators for your dprint output. It should be fixed to say where to really find output. We should get rid of the links in Students' directories to the emacs start_up; Emacs now looks in project dirs. Telecommunications Report: New House has their Z19. Next House's phone line works. We gave ZBT the office's spare AJ, and we have their crufty Novation modem. New House has a very winning box for their Vadic. We should ask their fixit man if he can make more for the other dorms. WER will cancel the order for the New House phone with an exclusion switch. Dennis Baron has received a requisition for fixing the Student Center line. There is still a Z19 being repaired in Wellesley. The Senior House Z19 is having trouble with keyboard bounce. When New House picked up their Z19 last week, no record was made, and they were given no documentation. We should be more careful in the future. Do we still want to investigate connecting East Campus and Senior House to the concentrator that is going to be set up in the basement of Building 8? CBF reminded us that Chaosnet is still not a reliable way to get to Multics. We should twiddle the two office Z19's, as the one on the phone line has a better keyboard. The reason the property office had a list of wrong serial numbers was because the numbers that AJ sent them weren't serial numbers. Forms with the proper serial numbers will be coming in soon. The East Campus terminal room foozball table is OK. Publications Report: The policy statements are at Beane. The LSC slides are in the publications masters drawer. Other: We should order phones for the Activities Midway. We should order them to be installed ahead of time, at least several days ahead. Someone should run the computer tour this R/O. Alan made up notes from last year's tour. Barmar has been volunteered to be Midway chairman. ECCF consulting numbers should be posted. Al (our old floorwaxer, who is now the East Campus/Senior House night-watchman) won the Murphy Award. Applications: Autoed applications have been read. Naor, Michael - rejected by office.
