There is one tape in the safe Chairman's Report: Chairman is in NJ. Vice reports in ping 3331 that he won't have to run next sipb meeting. Motion to elect new chairman, seconded. Oh well not enough execcomm. Office Report: Carpet is cleaner. Office is less pitly. Opus cleaned carpets, but ran out of the super splufty cleaning fluid that was taking out the stains. He will get some somtime. Do we need supplies ? We now have staples ? Do we need paper clips ? Maybe. Duct tape ? we have (more random supplies mentioned. We got 2 new wonderful chairs from Kim. Gray chairs and chair with metal spike will be auctioned off after the next meeting by office czar. MIT Computing Report: 4 AFS servers dumped core last night & 1 had a filled partition this morning. Accounts no longer has the ability to move lockers when partitions fill up. Some discussion follows about AFS problems. Transarc status sign today is still valid. Dialup service will be altered tomorrow. No more X on normal dialups, you will need to use athena-x.mit.edu, athena-dec.dialup.mit.edu will officially be a DS5000/25 dialup. Move to defenestrate jik. Computer Services: We 2 new maxines for news...news people have started working on them yandros started a new project with edwin but did not have enough space on hal to work with it. Edwin binaries claim to work on vax, sun4, pmax. SIPB AFS Cell Backup Report: Done this afternoon gamadrid will clean up some old stuff from the sipb cell 52 M may reclaimed when non-member user volumes are deleted in September that Chairman should send out mail to people that have sipb sponsored accounts that were told they would be deleted in September. mhpower found a few users with accounts that should be terminated that were not notified earlier for various reasons. The chairman will be supplied with a list. Publications Report: iPS: in edit Cluster map (map with all the clusters) done by rjbarbal, take a look at it iSecurity: mhbraun has started working on it. If people are interested in writing sections contact him. Sections include kerberos, what is running on a workstation, how to choose a password, etc. Guide to Internet: strikes bjaspan as an amazingly complicated hairy task. there are things out there that have that. rjbarbal & mkgray are collecting ideas. iGames: kevles is willing to write it.
