Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 10/29/2001


The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by fyfer.

In attendance were

Treasurer's Report:
	nim: We have money.  Yay.

Chairman's Report:
	fyfer: There are people from some class doing a project on
		SIPB.  They might get in touch with people.

Office Report:
	tibbetts: We moved office heads around and sent mail.

Office Cleaning Report:

MIT Computing Report:
	hartmans: I was disturbed to be on IRC with someone who said
		they were sitting in front of an RT donated to MSU that
		was still working.  

Computer Services:
	tibbetts: VMWare is now running with two processors.  Move to
		allocate $50 to FedEx the old processor back.
	jhawk: FedEx  ground is cheap.

Publications Report:
	jhawk: The chair doesn't suck.
	jhawk: We're low on iAFS.
	jhawk: Perhaps we should make the office copies of publications
		a different color.  Keep this in mind next time.  This
		might make them less likely to  walk this way.
	yak: Or you could write "Do Not Remove" on it.
	jhawk: That doesn't work.	

Orientation Report:

IAP Report:
	fyfer: The deadline for the printed IAP guide is this Wednesday,
		Oct. 31.  Talk to Sherri right now if you still want to
		teach a class.

CokeComm Report:

Other:
	yak: I'm working on a kerberized Nethack server.  It's in beta
		now.  The problem with Nethack  is that it requires a
		setgid something.  There's a script called
		/mit/yak/bin/nethack that mostly does the right thing.  

Other Other:
	tibbetts: Finding an integral in the CRC is harder than I
		thought it would be.
