The other is kretch's book. kenta: mkc now has a yellow screen. That screen is supposed to change according to the number of workstations available in the various Athena clusters. It's the Athena stress-o-meter. It's been up for about 20 minutes. jhawk: Maybe you could overlay the color with additional information, such as a Sesame Street character or the number of workstations in use. Office Cleaning Report: MIT Computing Report: golem: I've been hearing that I/S is breaking in even more vague ways. merolish: Sounds ominous. hartmans: I'd say changing, not breaking. Computer Services: golem: cporter is still working on this mysterious vmware project. Publications Report: golem: Omri, did you ever finish your editing of iAthena? ocschwar: They were side-edits. ocschwar: I should print out iGraphics, but I'm hosed right now. Orientation Report: golem: It's sooner than you think. IAP Report: jtu: I am no longer responsible for being sucker and failing. golem: For the record, jtu did an excellent job as IAP sucker. Congrautulations to all those who taught classes. jmorzins: It's sooner than you think. merolish: Shut up. kenta: We had a lot of spam to sipb-iap-*. merolish: That's a known issue. golem: You should turn them off as mailing lists. xela: I'd just like to say, that Jen got dragged kicking and screaming into being IAP sucker, and did a fine job without all the support she should have had from the former Sucker if he'd had time, and deserves to be thanked. CokeComm Report: kenta: We're out of goldfish. kenta: I'd like to move to allocate $10 for a thermometer for the refrigerator, so we know if it's too warm. [kenta allocation: $10 for thermometer] Other: jtu: APO is running a book exchange today. You can buy and sell textbooks. hartmans: Japan was very Japanese. Other Other: kenta: I'm TAing 18.337, which is a very cool class on parallel computing. ocschwar: In neuroscience, they can use machines now to know when you have gotten a joke, to detect when you're being honest about how strongly you feel about something, and when you feel romantic or maternal love. kenta: Will this result in an allocation? [discussion of possible new SIPB services] ocschwar: Jack Nicholson: "You can't handle the truth." jtu: I'm going to try to take a Coure VI class that I don't think they're done with. golem: I had my fourth dental surgery since October. It was dealing with complications of my wisdom tooth surgery. [disgusting discussion ensues] golem: I'm a TA for 6.033, but I'm secretly running it. jtu: I had an exciting chat with Gerry Sussman today about his theories about RSI. The meeting was adjourned at 19:45. Minutes taken and submitted by merolish.
