Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 02/23/2004


The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by jtu.

Chairman's Report:
	jtu: SIPB's 35th reunion is coming up - June 13. Send RSVPs, questions to jtu.

	jtu: Jeff is skiing next week. Elections will be next week for
		wjh and the week after for jbarnold

Office Report:
	jtu: jtu got kretch's new book ("Open Source Network
		Administration") for the office, got kretch to sign
		it, but kretch wouldn't give it back to jtu until jtu
		stopped calling kretch 'Jamie'
	golem: mumble Unix Environment book mumble

Office Cleaning Report:
	golem: the office is a pit
	hartmans: how can a pit be on the 5th floor?

MIT Computing Report:
	kchen: 4-035 cluster goes by permanently. 3down does not
		specify why, zephyr says monitors damaged in flooding
	jweiss: yes, the flood was problem, but also, some cluster or
		clusters was/were probably going to be closed soon
		anyway due to budget issues.
	jtu: The patron saint of ADD is leaving
	ike: who?

	ike: why is he the patron saint...?
	jweiss: if you know bobmah, it makes sense
	
Computer Services:

	jbarnold: I need a member to talk to ops.
	hartmans: that's convenient since jweiss is here.

	jweiss: People interested in getting involved with SIPB server
		maintenance to jweiss
	jtu: ike, you're ruining my track record on meeting brevity
	cporter: (moved from other report) I suck because I had to
		leave town unexpectedly, which caused steve-dallas
		services to suffer.

	golem: I'll deal with matlab

	jtu: jbarnold is orientation sucker. we still need a tours sucker.
