dvorak42: I've talked with Mark Silis and Tom Komola on friday regarding the introduction of a prox reader on the door. We're going to try getting Mark to talk to SEMO to get them to remove the door reader.

Project Updates

glasgall: XVM had an exciting week. On thursday, Babylon 4 fell off the internet. It stopped responding to traffic on it's front end interface. The machine itself was up. We then spent the next three or four hours trying to find a software fix. At the end, I walked to W91 to and changed the it from switch port 9 to 10. Some time in the middle, we asked IS&T to check switches, causing a 30 minute outage to 18.181.

asedeno: I noticed limekiller had no connectivity beyond smr net. It had noticed that the MAC address of the gateway had changed but had not updated its ARP table. I manually cleared the entry and pinged the gateway. That fixed it.

glasgall: During the 18.181 outage, various people including some in IS&T trying to debug the problem, could not log in due to dot files referencing stuff in SIPB afs.

glasgall: achernya has a hilarious prototype of a new sql site. You should ask to see it.

duncant: Racks and AC units do not cohibitate well. If you have a rack and and an AC unit, move them off of the same circuit.
