RDM's suggestions for topics of concern and an order for discussing them at
the SIPB User meeting: [comments by cent are in brackets.]

	Ask people "What is the SIPB?  What do we do?"  (Point out what we
DO do for people, what services we provide, what services we do NOT
provide:)

	We fund UROP, projects, learning, IAP courses.

	We run the LISP course and the IAP programming contest.

	We donate terminals: for which we charge fees.  Are fees OK?  Where
	we donate them to, and why.  How your living group can get one.
	The W20 terminal room.  That we provide paper and ribbons for all
	student group terminals, not just ours.

	We fund and provide support for textpro.  We have only been doing
	this for a few years.  What we fund.  How many people use it?  What
	editor do you use?  Why we can't fund thesis.  How unhappy does
	that make people?  Mention existence of Spinwriter and other dprint
	facilities, and other tools.

	[We provide introductory documentation.]
	We do consulting: For Multics, LISP, PL1, etc.  Marginally for
	other computer systems.  Example: Ask us a question.  What things
	are you confused about a lot?  Do you like our documentation?  What
	do you find wrong with it?  What else would you like to see?

	[We run the RO computer tour.]

	[We administer COOP; this is a way for people to pay money mostly
	to do textpro.  fairness of this.]

	[Short mention of job service.  Is this useful?]

Rates on our services: NEW MULTICS RATES!  How this will affect you.  Do
you think these rates are fair? Do you realize that this is REAL money we
are talking about? (Explain our budget superficially; do NOT go into great
depth.)

Use of other machines: The 370 is the only one we can fund.  How does this
affect people?  Are there other machines you would like to use through us?
Do you know about all the software packages on Multics?  Explain a few of
these.  Explain why we have trouble funding use of other systems.

Do you use the 370?  Do you like it?  Mention IBM software packages, and
explain a bit about them.

SIPB policies: Do you like them?  Why or why not?  How do they affect YOU?

SIPB people: How do you like how these individuals handle you and your
problems?  Do you think they don't care?  Or that they are trying to
impress you?  Or that they are just a bunch of computer hackers and thus
not very human?  How about making the process of talking to us easier?  Any
suggestions?

Have you ever been screwed by a computer?  Why?  Do you think you could
have won if you had received more help?  How?

Have you ever been screwed by the SIPB?  When?  How?  Did you give up?  Did
you win despite us, and if so, how?

What do you use computers for?  Do you plan to use them in the future?
What for (DP, applications, hacking, job,...)?

Computer courses: Which ones have you taken?  Do you find them useful?
Which ones?  Have you heard about the IAP LISP course?  Why we teach it,
etc.

What would you like to see happen with respect to computers at MIT?  More
computers?  More access?  More terminals?  More locations?  What do you
think they are doing wrong?
