	*** USER INTERRUPT ***
	*
	*	Bill Roberts wants to teach some outside group COBOL.
	*	He needs computer time and a room to use for two hours
	*	each week in the evenings. The Scheduling Office says
	*	that he needs to be sponsored by some official group.
	*	He should talk to Wes first, as this falls outside our
	*	charter.

We are going to donate the old Waterloo and Stanford
Computer Center Bulletins to the Reading Room.

	Computer Services:

Multics was very sick this weekend.

		The CalComp is still down.

Users added after 15 May will not be deleted at the
		end of the fiscal year.

It has been proposed that the SIPB go for a small
Multics system. The trouble is that the Multics in
question has not really been announced. Do we really
want to do this? We would have to be given a budget
to hire full-time employees. We would have to be
careful not to be co-opted the way LOTS was. There is
some question as to whether the DPS 8/20 could handle
our load. To offset this, it would be available 24
hours a day, exclusively to students. In addition, we
would be unable to give users any time on any other
system. The nature of the organization would have to
change radically. There would be some danger of the
control of the new system falling out of our hands and
into the hands of whoever was paid to run the system.

	Telecommunications Report:

There are some home-brew modifications that we could
do to the ADM 3A, to give it clear-to-end-of-line and
also to turn off the beep in column 72. We will
investigate what it takes to make the terminal do
these things and whether we will be able to do them
		within our service contract.

The Student Center Library will be closed for
recarpeting from the 7th to the 21st of July. Should
we move the ADM 3A to the Library only to have it
become unavailable for two weeks right off the bat?
Is there a place where we could put our terminals in
the interim? Perhaps we could get space in the
keypunch room for those two weeks.

Do we want carpeting in the terminal room at all? It
generates static. We decided to go ahead and let them
		replace the carpeting.

	Publications Report:

There is a new batch of a new version of Emacs
		handouts.

		Some Multics manuals arrived.

	R/O Report:

The freshman letter was lost and must be reprinted.
		The deadline is 1 July.

HGA will begin making contacts for the computer tour.

	Other:

The combination to Coke-Comm has been changed.

Tavares was in town for a WP6 (Honeywell level 6 word
processing) conference and was angry about
		administrative sloppiness.

	Applications:

Robert Proctor wants $25 for more work on his paper
for the American Mathematical Monthly. Given.

		$1065 autoed. $100 EC 370.

	Other Other:

RK has been out baiting tornadoes.

RMP and DGHP are back, married.

		ACW is transcribing Bozos.

Some urchins in Allston hit ACW over the head with a
		piece of wood. Ouch.

LSP is heading East. Maybe we will see him.

Alan, c|, and Moon are still building closets.

WMY, SEL, and RM and DGH P have a nice house for the
		summer.

BSG has a gnome and a new cube.

The chairman has a new camera.

The meeting was adjourned at 2140.

Minutes taken and submitted by Allan C. Wechsler
