Minutes of the Sipb meeting of 27 June 83.

The meeting was called to order by JR at 7:38 pm.

In attendance: GMP, CLM, CAH, AMY (but no carla), RK, JR, PSR, JCP.

TO MEETING APPLICATIONS

HSSP. 4 Courses, Leo Ryan says that they can use terminals.  They want to
teach basic and pascal.  They want $500.  Given.

Smith, Mike.  Wants 50 for languages.  Given.

Group Velocity wants 50 had 100.  Text processing.  (application slid under
our door)  Given (in next year).


RK says that purple and orange don't mix until after july 1.  Leave them
separate or they will mix and give a real grody color.  (applications that is)

CAH tells us about the stu cen term room.

Treasurer's report

(JR exploded)  He is going to teach CLM something about being a treasurer (I
wouldn't ask).

CLM balanced the checkbook.  Our projects will run out at the end of June.

CHAIRMAN'S report

He is still in CA.  The acting chairman doesn't like negative arguments.

Office report.

Amy made a nice sign for the office.  (it is a little crooked though.)

Computer services.

The auto limit is per user, not system.
We don't have a JCF budget for this year.  The acting chairman will write a
letter.  We were asking for 30,000.  We should ask for less.  No we shouldn't.
CBF and JR are going to see Bruce.
RK moves that we take the Trash-80 and put ...he withdraws the motion.


Telecommunications report.

Move to give the LA36 to Zeta Psi.  given

Fiji wants a 300 baud modem.  We will lend them the working novation for the
summer.

RK wants to sell all of our UDS modems for 400$ and buy DC Hayes Smartmodems.
There was a lot of discussion and dissention.

Jay will bring our VT100 back from LSC and put it in our terminal room in the
Stucen.

People may or may not make the application statistics database work.

R/O report

freshman letter must go to UASO with a check for $25.
