In attendance: DCH, JLF, GMP, MJH, KHG, RMP, SEL, MAP, CWH, EJS, , and archy. *** User Interrupt *** Hornig: Application to do mailing labels for Pershing Rifles (alums) (LAL and LFL walked in at this point and LAL left again immediately) Given $100. Minutes of the previous meeting were read (LAL came back in) and laughed into eternity (and the minute archive). Treasurer's report: MJH produced some rather telling graphs about our spending. If we don't accelerate our spending we will be stuck with lots of $$ at the end of the year. Chairman's report: DCH met Jean Bonney. She formerly worked for Bell Labs and had some Multics experience there. She seemed interested in Dan's comments about stagnation of IPC and in getting students a better break one way or another. (SAS, CBF, LSP and GMR came in somewhere in here...) EE dept has put out memos about what they want for an undergraduate computer. Lots of bullshit. DCH: "The report reads like a 6.033 term paper." DCH will go complain about various parts of various person's bodies... Shelving? Policy statement? The chairman is becoming hairy. (There was a feebly growing down on his chin). Office report: KTOC. The office spider now has a web to hang out in. Weather report: It is being cold (at least for here). IAP report: Somebody asked for Prof. Greenberg today... LISP course takers are not using their provided funds. Multics course is rather disjointed. The programming contest is on its way. Problem is a variation on checkers where both players cooperate to try to get a quick win for one side. The Contest project will start tomorrow. Art Anger is more random than we thought... 370/168 & TSO: Still running... Please clean up storage... WATFIV & PLUTO: PLUTO service will start soon with a copy of the manual in the office. GMR will continue working on the manual. Multics: new_fortran was installed, is incompatable with the old one. John Doty is upset... Auto-booting has worked a couple times! ECS: We are out of manuals! CS_: RMP volunteered to work on CS_. Publicity report: C. W. Beane seems to do good work. They have an obscure billing scheme... GMR will cons up a "Free computer time: see the SIPB!" poster. LSC slide? Drop poster? Fortune cookies? LFL, JLF, and GMR will work on publicity... Telecommunications: Our coupler went to Computrend. CBF went to see Wes Burner about our upcoming year's terminal budget. We are not going to get any money but that for maintainence. Not 16K but 3! We may be able to get a 4013 in cooperation with PDO. (archy walked out at this point. Minutes going to sleep for......) .br Waking up... .br Burton terminal is acting up, New House phone is still out! Election: Postponed to try to get more members. Applications: $1090 autoed, $70 for IAP courses, $275 given by decision. Elections (again): LFL was elected to the Board by a vote of 11 to 0. Much rejoicing... Meeting adjourned at 20:44. archy
