MINUTES OF THE S.I.P.B. MEETING OF AUGUST 15TH, 1977.


The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by DCH.
In attendance were DCH, DAS, DLW, CBF, GMP, AB, and RK.
GMR, RMF, and MLK came in late.

The minutes of the previous week's meeting were read and deferred
until typed.

GMR came in during the reading of the minutes.

Treasurer's Report:  Once again KHG was not present.  The Tech
Index Project was discussed.  It was generally agreed that it
was a disaster.

RMF walked in during the above discussion, looked around surprised
for several seconds and said "Oh, there's a S.I.P.B. meeting going
on."

Chairman's Report:  Nothing.  Well, not really. The chairman sent
lots of garbage mail to SIPBADMIN one day.  A discussion of getting
our own computer followed.  GMP mentioned that there will be a
Dec System 20 belonging to the Cambridge School District in 39-300.

Office Report:  The office is filthy.  The bookcase has been moved
back.  There was a discussion of saving all SIPBADMIN mail on line
to have it microfiched.

370-168 and TSO:  Motion to suspend all services.  Died.  Move to
make the title of this report "370-168".  Passed.

Phone Interupt:  RDM wants to be on SIPBADMIN.  After the usual
lossage this was agreed to.

More 370 ...:  VM is scheduled for the end of October (It's OFFICIAL!).
CMS will be available in late 1977 or early 1978.  They need more
hardware.

Watfiv:  Runs.  We need signs.

Pluto:  Doesn't.

Multics Report:  There is now a real time editor - PERCH.  Site definable
terminal types are coming.

ECS Report:  13 thingies left ...

CS:  We have to do something.  We should talk to Art Anger.  CBF agreed
to go.

SIPBAPL:  Due to the attrition of workspaces there are on 30 records left.
They have not been moved to NBDD.

Telecommunications:  Dec fixed out terminal and is holding it for observation.

Other:  Nothing.

Applications:  $150 total, $100 auto, $50 given (RK - Multics - More TINT
work).

Other Other:  DCH is going to investigate publicity.
