Minutes of the SIPB Meeting
		of 11 Feb 1985

	The meeting was called to order at 7:34pm by JR.

		TREASURER'S REPORT

          The ASA is having a mini-Activities Midway in March.  If anybody
wants to organize something for the SIPB, go ahead.  Carla organized the
Coop account information.

          month-to-date sipb/sipbadmin spending: 2108.73
        2 year-to-date  sipb/sipbadmin spending: 79041.72
	

		CHAIRMAN'S REPORT

The chairman is here, but has nothing to report in this category.
	
                    ATHENA REPORT

Doug Wilson has left.  The ADMIN program is working.  We gave out 12
accounts today.  There is a direction sheet on the VT-240.  Keep track
of how many accounts are being given out.  
Charon got the new release last week.
Mail is being gatewayed through Athena instead of Charon.
The DEC Committee needs someone to replace RDZ when he graduates.
High school students broke into Athena this weekend and created accounts
for themselves.  The roots have been changed.  
Only give Athena accounts to undergraduates who do not have Multics 
accounts.  We are not in the business of giving out Athena accounts
except on this temporary limited basis.

		OFFICE REPORT

The office will be manned for sure from 3 to 4 p.m. every weekday
beginning tomorrow.  The switch will be moved to the Athena Machine
Room soon.  Room for the Mac will have to be made.  

                    Capital Budget Spending Report

We are buying a Macintosh with a Hyperdrive and 1.2 megabytes of memory.

                    SOCIAL COMMITTEE REPORT

BG and Carla suggest buying shirts with our name on them.

		COMPUTER SERVICES

A Multics Scribe server is needed.

		TELECOMMUNICATIONS REPORT

Aya resolved the terminal problem.  We can't do it on a cash basis.
Transfers from living group accounts to our Capital Spending Account are
acceptable.  We have to inventory all our equipment.  Aya needs help
in getting serial numbers.  JR volunteers RRK and Tim. [DJB comes in at
this point]  LA36's will be offered for $50 each.

	The meeting was adjourned at 20:11.
