Minutes of the SIPB Meeting
		of May 20, 1985

	The meeting was called to order at 19:41 by JR.
	
In attendance were: BCN, WHBH, DJB, DFM, VFL, Ken, JR, GAX, Lee, 
	   Irene, DMS, RF (late)

 
		TREASURER'S REPORT

There is no treasurer.

		CHAIRMAN'S REPORT

The chairman is busy writing a 15-page paper.
	
                    ATHENA REPORT

There is a meeting with Beth Anderson tomorrow but nobody has prepared
for it.

		OFFICE REPORT

The VT-240 is not in a very good spot.

		COMPUTER SERVICES

Lots of people have been asking for extensions on their accounts.
So far we have been telling them to come back later.  [RF arrives!]
RF will talk with Jim Bruce on Wednesday.  We have to figure out how
to make our users pay for output.  JR doesn't think this is necessary
right away.  Such a move would prevent people from avoiding Athena's
output charges.
DMS worries that our user community will be back in force next term
despite Athena.  We have to think of ways to deal with it.
RF suggests having IPS register new users next term.
JR thinks we would lose some autonomy if we did this.
