Minutes of the SIPB Meeting
		of May 6, 1985

	The meeting was called to order at 19:41 by BCN.
	Nobody noticed.  The meeting was called to order
	at 19:45 by MW but less people noticed.  

          The meeting was officially called to order at 19:49 by JR.
	
In attendance were: BCN, RK, JTK, Simsong, MW, BG, Carla, Tim, RRK, RDZ, DFM,
      Ken, PLJ, CLM, Aya, WHBH, VFL, JR, RF, Amy and four prospectives, 
      George, Irene, Dave, and Peter


 
		TREASURER'S REPORT

	month-to-date student spending: 11,073.08
	year-to-date student spending: 272,719.61
	
          month-to-date sipb/sipbadmin spending: 2863.98
          year-to-date  sipb/sipbadmin spending: <80630.47
	

		CHAIRMAN'S REPORT

All four prospectives are here to be elected.  Peter knows how give people
Multics accounts.  So does George.  Dave knows in theory.  PLJ will teach
Irene.  Peter likes to hang around the office.  George wants to hack soda
and drink the Macintosh.  Dave is tired of having to tell people he helps
that he is not a SIPB member.  Irene wants to be like Pat.  [Applause]
All are elected.  Peter 17 yes, 1 abstain.  George 14 yes, 4 abstain.
Dave 17 yes, 1 abstain.  Irene 16 yes, 1 no, 1 abstain.

Now we have officer elections.  RF and eight others are nominated for
Chairman.  All decline except RF.  RF gets eighteen votes, Carla gets
one, and RDZ gets three votes.  RF is the new Chairman.  For Vice Chairman
BG, Aya, and Simson are nominated and accept.  There are 11 votes for BG,
4 votes for Aya, 2 for Simson, 2 for Ramin, 1 for WHBH, and 2 abstentions.
[DFM shows up]  BG is the new Vice Chairman.  Aya, Carla, and WHBH are
nominated for treasurer and accept.  Carla gets 17 votes, Aya gets 4 votes,
Ramin gets 1 vote, and there is one abstention.  Carla is the "new" treasurer.
WHBH is nominated for Secretary and accepts.  WHBH gets 18 votes, Aya gets
one vote, and RDZ gets 3 votes.  WHBH is the "new" secretary.

Now we elect the five Members-at-Large of the Execcomm.  On the first ballot,
Aya gets 18 votes, RDZ gets 13 votes, Ken gets 11 and Simson, Amy and Pat
tie with ten.  On the runoff, Amy gets 16 votes, Pat gets 14 votes, and
Simson gets 12.  The members at large are Aya, RDZ, Ken, Amy, and Pat.
	

                    SOCIAL COMMITTEE REPORT

Glasses are here for $3 each.

		COMPUTER SERVICES

This summer, Multics accounts will go away on June 30.  To extend someone's
account, use add_student to push the cutoff date to 9/13/85.

		OTHER

Ramin will be TAing 6.313 next semester.
Go to an LSC movie this weekend.  Jon has put in a slide.
