We have money, somewhere between $1500 and 2000. I'm not sure yet - I'm going to sit down in front of the drawer and work it out. nathanw: When should we send rescue parties? sly: In five hours or so. Chairman's Report: '() Office Report: keithw: Move to allocate up to $30 to buy a cable suitable for connecting an office machine to the stereo. [white ballot, motion passes] yak: The math CRC book came. [muddled noises about book indexing] Office Cleaning Report: cfox: We had a cleaning. nathanw: Camilla caused spontaneous cleaning on Friday, and it was good. fyfer: Don't know if people realized, but our recycling takes other kinds of paper too now, so you don't have to feel guilty about putting it in the trash. nathanw: I'm curious as to where the foaming monitor cleaner went. [assorted mumbling from the office] My question has been answered. MIT Computing Report: jweiss: mit.mit.edu, a machine that some people used for mail relaying by some clients, will be turned off soon, you should update your machines to use outgoing, or to understand MX records. Computer Services: kolya: Someone set up a port forwarder from zsr to the news server, and then someone sent 100 pieces of spam through it. I cut off zsr's access to the news server and sent mycroft mail about it. sly: www had issues this past week, we think in part due to some sort of resource problem, we're trying to offload services. SIPB Backup Report: zacheiss: Yeah. Publications Report: gif: We're down to 7 copies of iLaTeX. yak: We seem to have some of everything. xela: Move to allocate up to $50 for as many copies of iLaTeX as that will buy. [zacheiss seconds] [white ballot] gif: I'll deal. yak: Can someone check for more copies of ilinux-athena? sly: I suck, I've been rewriting it. yak: Should I destroy these five copies? fyfer: These are all dated 1994, should I put them in the recycling bin? [Some ancient docs are recycled.] Orientation Report: nathanw: It's far away. IAP Report: xela: I intend to be IAP sucker one more time, I'd like to find someone willing to be future IAP sucker, it's a good way to learn skills. If there are any such freshmen or sophomores, they should talk to me later. CokeComm Report: gif: We had our first loser, a public apology for the one person to not receive a coke when we ran out. We now have black cherry IBC, which is going at the juice dot price, since they don't sell it in bulk. Other: eichin: Several SIPB members are now employees of Adero, instead of FastEngines. zacheiss: Helixcode got slashdotted today, danw was listed as the token non-linux weenie. Other Other: keithw: There was an iridium flare this morning, it was really cool and really bright.
