Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of July 3, 2000.


The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by nathanw. 

In attendance were

	Prospectives: aletta, aatharuv, nemo

Treasurer's Report:

	nathanw: I think the treasurer is projecting LSC or something.

	jhawk: The treasurer reports that we came in under budget by
		$300 or so.  jhawk reports that he did not buy a cd
		player.

	marc: It's traditional for the sipb treasurer to miss the
		meeting at this time of year.

Chairman's Report:

	nathanw: There's free lsc, let's get this over with.

Office Report:

	nathanw: There's fewer boxes in the office since I moved the
		new stuff to the machine room.

	jhawk: Plant finally fixed the problem with the pump and the
		pipe, it seems to be running more often.

Office Cleaning Report:

	nathanw: It's a mess.  Arguably I did the most cleaning all
		week by moving those boxes.

MIT Computing Report:

	zacheiss: Early for solaris isn't going out tonight, it should
		go out Wednesday night, for real this time.

	jhawk: w20ns continues to suck much as it has for the last two
		years.

Computer Services:

	jweiss: I'm still working on making charon the decstation go
		away.

	jhawk: I'd like to request that whenever jweiss mispronounces
		"charon", he does so as "charcon".

	nathanw: Denied.


SIPB Backup Report:

	zacheis: afs did themselves, ufs missed one because of a bad
		tape, it'll get done tonight.

Publications Report:

	jhawk: We're out of linux athena, I'm removing the label for
		it.  We're also out of cluster cards.

Orientation Report:

	cfox: There's more diet coke.

Other:

	yak: banana-sr is still here, what's the deal with banana-sr?
	jweiss: I'm harassing kcr to get the person who wanted to deal
		with it to deal with it.

	fastcart: There's some two day old pizza left in the fridge.

	aatharuv: A few people have looked at the linux web page, and
		still think the newest version they can install is 5.2.
	jhawk: This is something to bring to linux-dev, we don't
		normally discuss so much minutae during the meeting.

	belmonte: IS's page still says 5.2.

Other Other:

	aletta: Fulton's folly is tomorrow, people whould show up,
		hopefully it won't rain too much.

	nathanw: Again, LSC movie really soon now.

	jhawk: Everybody look at Chad, they'll be frisbee on the oval,
		in spite of LSC.
