Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 04/14/2003


The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by golem.

Office Report:
	jhawk: We got 2 new hole punches.  The paper drill doesn't fit
		anywere, no electric, and is sitting on the floor.
	golem: The elctrical powered ones are more powerful.  It
		should be somewhere where people can observe its glory.

	foley: Scanner with USB.  We will be switching scanners with the old
		one.
	fustflum: Can we get a frob?

Office Cleaning Report:

MIT Computing Report:
	golem: 9 something?
	hartmans: 9.2 went to alpha.  You don't care.  In the future we
		will care.  Kerberos released krb5.3 alpha 2.  New
		Maczephyr was released last week.

Computer Services:
	hartmans: I'm doing some work to allow SIPB Debian to have a
		more reproducible build environment.  I should be done
		by next weekend.  It helps to be paid.

SIPB Backup Report:
	golem: We don't need this report.  The backups are in Hawaii.
	hartmans: Remember that the UFS backup is on the
		zacheiss-feels-like-it schedule.  There may be
		replacement hardware (p=0.5).

Publications Report:
	golem: iUsenet and iBitmaps out.  But no one has read them for
		decades.  We're out of iMatlab.  But this should
		already be dealt with.  I'll check the minutes.

	hartmans: We should recruit more people to do documentation.
	golem: Is it possible to maintain them worse?
	foley: We could add fallous information.
