Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 7.28.2003


The meeting was called to order at 19:32 by golem.

In attendance were

Treasurer's Report:
	hartmans: Can we get a treasurer someday?  We're screwed.
	golem: He came back from Tahiti, but then he got engaged.
	jhawk: Our cost will go up $4/month.  We have what, 50 IP
		addresses and 12 months?  It's unpleasant, but not
		screwed.
	hartmans: I thought there was more concern with the machine
		room.
	jhawk: I'm pretty sure there isn't.
	golem: Any impression you got of concern was probably unfounded.
	hartmans: Do we know how much our budget is decreasing?
	golem: No.  Our treasurer doesn't have new information on the
		topic.

Office Report:
	hartmans: glasser made syncsipb deal with passwd.local.  seph
		threatens a more aggressive rewrite of syncsipb;
		interested parties should read email. 

Office Cleaning Report:

MIT Computing Report:
	hartmans: Kerberos had an oops last week that was security
		related.  We're recovering from that.

Orientation Report:
	golem: rax is coming back in a couple weeks.

	hartmans: Grr.  No Dr. Pepper.  Very sad.
	fustflum: No Snapple.  Very sad.

Other:
	merolish: A user came into the office today complaining that
		Mozilla would crash when trying to print a certain
		page.  It turned out to be a bug in Mozilla.  It was
		fixed within hours of me submitting a bug report.
		Go Mozilla.

Other Other:
	golem: I'll note that I'll be giving a talk at USENIX security
		in a few days, and I haven't started preparing yet, so I
		suck.
