Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 10/11/2004


The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by jtu.

In attendance were

Treasurer's Report:
	arolfe: There are apples here.  You should all take one.

Chairman's Report:
	jtu: The ASA sent us mail.  There is going to be a General Body
		Meeting.  If anyone wants to go for the SIPB, let me
		know.  If you're a grad student and want to run for grad
		student at large, you should go.

	jtu: We amended the constitution.  Article VI, Section 3 now
		reads,

		The officers of the Board must be active full members in
		good standing who have been active members in the term
		immediately prior to their election.  The Members-at-
		Large of the Executive Committee must be active full
		members in good standing.  There shall be no campaigning
		before the elections.
	hartmans: So if you're membered the last meeting of a term, you
		can run for EC the next term.
	jtu: Yes.

Office Report:
	jbarnold: The old batteries were taken away.  New batteries are
		in the UPS being charged.  I will test the UPS once
		they're charged.

Office Cleaning Report:
	hartmans: The office has been kind of pitly lately.  It was
		really bad Sunday.  There was a lot of half-eaten food
		lying around.

Publications Report:
	jtu: If you're interested in working on iAthena, I'm trying to
		gauge whether we have critical mass.  Let me know if
		you're interested.

Orientation Report:

IAP Report:
	jtu: Someone emailed us who's an alum from when SIPB got
		started, and wants to teach an IAP class.

	hartmans: There were some prospectives talking about past
		experience with how Linux installfests were useful, and
		suggested one should be run.

CokeComm Report:

	tabbott: Minutes weren't sent out last week.

Other Other:
	jtu: Chris Laas is testing for yellow belt in karate.  You
		should come see him test.
