Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 04/11/2005


The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by jbarnold.

Treasurer's Report:
	arolfe: Last week we allocated about $500.  We have about $1500 left.

Chairman's Report:
	jbarnold: Last week I went to visit Harvard.  They might drop
		by. Try not to be too nasty.

Office Report:

	rayhe: Do we want to have an Athena 9.4 machine? A user was
		asking about building something for it.

	ike: No, it's not really available yet.

Office Cleaning Report:
	
	ike: The office rock showed up?

	jbarnold: It showed up a couple months ago.  I think it relost
		itself.

MIT Computing Report:

SIPB Projects Report:

	rayhe: I need people to help me test a script (WebAdmin)

	tabbott: Jeff and I have been discussing offering a 6-unit
		course in the fall about Athena, mostly for freshmen.
		Send us mail if you're interested.
		
	kenta: I finally got the latest version of gcc compiled.  it's
		in the gcc-3.4 locker.

	jbarnold: Our scripts server will be purchased soon.

	kenta: There's a bittorrent client in the outland locker now.

Computer Services:

Publications Report:

	jbarnold: They look okay.

Orientation/IAP Report:

	jbarnold: We distributed 65 cans of coke at the midway and got
		some email addresses.

CokeComm Report:

	jbarnold: A run is occurring... now, I think.

Other:

	jbarnold: In the words of jmorzins, the CPW account
		"antimaterialized".  Network security and others
		didn't like the idea of it.

Other Other:

	rjbarbal: There's a blood drive this week in La Sala.

	wdaher: The US government has my birthdate wrong.

	rayhe: I need a semiformal date for Saturday.

	jhawk: You could take milquetoast.

	jbarnold: Anyone else need a date?

	janetryu: Well, Alpha Phi is having a "Find a Mister for your
		Sister" event...
