Minutes of the meeting of 1/31/77.

Meeting was called to order at 19:41 due to half the board being late
from dinner.

In attendance:  DCH, CRD, MJH, LSP, OTA, KHG, JLF, RDM (!), LFL, GMR, MLK,
GMP, RMP, MAP, CWH, and archy.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer's report:  We spent $5K on Multics during IAP.  The 370 spending
has been down, but if we continue as we are now we might make it.
Coke accounting needs to be straightened out.

Chairman's report:  DCH went to see CRD at Saltzer's office on Thursday
(1/26/77) and told him about the errors in their estimates for their machine.
They sound pretty brain-damaged with respect to their language choices
and does not want to let us in as this would make accounting necessary.
He is talking along the lines of $2 M (!) (i.e.  six
DEC 20's).  DCH will talk to Gray.

Office report:  KTOC & CTO.  We got some Kleenex and pink pads.  Hammocks?

Weather report:  Much debate on whether it is cold or not...

IAP report:  IAP is officially over.  We will apologize to Jean Bonney for
the slacking in our Multics course.

370/168 & TSO:  New access control will be put into the 370 (RACF) with
MVS...  Someday...

Multics report:  Some of our AML library programs have been re-written by
archy and will be re-installed soon.

ECS:  ()

CS_:  Work!  Work!

Telecommunications:  The best price we can get for depot service is $14.00 per terminal per month
so (as per last week's decision) we will get on-site service ($19.00).
New House dataset is STILL down.  Student Center has down terminal.

IDcomm:  coming...

Other:  Office toaster is coming (courtesy of GMR).  Proposal to get a
hot-plate.

Publicity:  We are getting 24 lbs.  of fortune cookies at $1.44/lb.

Applications:  $370 autoed, $200 given, $10 IAP, and $100 rejected.

Kathy Porter:  Wanted $100 for text preparation.  Letter writing...  Rejected.

Other other:  Policy statement!  Smoke-filled room meeting this Friday or
Saturday.
