370 report: CMS has no automatic limit-stop accounting. It is done by hand once
a day. We should cons up a CMS problem number. A motion was made to not give CMS
funds until the Center gets automatic accounting. Passed.

Multics report: Ports went away today. Multics is making money, the 370 is losing it.

IAP report: LISP course went very well. DLW took the last lecture during BSG's illness.
Additional copies of the LISP notes will be printed to make 50 copies of each part. We
have sold 38 LISP manuals out of 50. (LFL came in at this point)

Tech report (?): The MIT team won the RPI programming contest. Steve Kirsch (from the Tech) talked to DCH
and got many bad quotes from him. It now turns out that this will be a lead story in the
Tech this week. They (the Tech) may expose the fact that the student chapter of the ACM no
longer exists. You may be wondering what this has to do with the RPI programming
contest. The problem is that it was an ACM contest and Kirsch wanted to know why we (SIPB,
aka the MIT ACM chapter) were not pushing it.

Telecommunications report: Many terminals are still down. Service contract starts on February 1.
If we want to call Victor Associates during working hours we need to go through
Pat Cook. At night, we can call Victor directly. Terminal allocation meeting this
Wednesday, February 1, at 22:00. Baker hid our terminal from its residents for about
a week without informing us due to some randoms hacking it. Motion to make it clear in
all future dealings with living groups using our terminals that they are not
to touch, move, or in any other way bother our terminals, and that we will do it for
them on request. A letter will be sent to Baker about their recent actions.

.ti 0
Publications report: Motion to stop charging $.25 for ECS manuals. (DLW, LSP, HIC, and
BEE came in at this point.) Failed.

.ti 0
Other: LSP is on the Computing Comittee. Many departments are complaining that we don't provide
funding for text preparation, thus favoring Course VI students. Suggestion to draft a
proposal for the comittee explaining our future wants and needs. A suggestion was made
to provide text-preparation facilities for students on a short term trial basis.
It will be thought of.
