Minutes of the meeting of 3/20/78.

In attendance:  DCH, RK, BSG, GMP, Paul, CAH, BIM (& sister), LSP, DLW, Alan, OTA, RMP,
MJH, LAL, Dave MacAfee, and archy.  LFL came in late.

User Interrupt:  Sohn, Eric (for SCC):  Request for funding to analyze data obtained from
Strat's Rat surveys.  Given $50  on Multics to edit his data.  After that he will use
something (SPSS, JANUS?) to grind it.

Treasurer's report:  No treasurer, but he seems to have been doing "treasurerly" things.

Chairman's report:  DCH went to the FCC meeting last Thursday.  He told them
about all of our problems.  He will give them a written report this  Thursday...

Office report:  The 8 is working better due to the efforts of archy, RDM, and Dave
MacAfee.    Office hours were solicited.

User Interrupt:  Theta Xi:  $55 to run fraternity accounting program
(already written and running) for the rest of the term.  Given.

370 report:  It sucks big rocks.

Multics report:  BSG's editor is really working well.  The Center is planning
to get a version of SPSS (SCSS), but it is rumored to be a loser.  Jean Bonney
claims that it will be better than the "old" SCSS.  BIM will be working
on it.

Telecommunications report:  The Fenway House terminal needs to be moved to Random Hall.
The left Student Center terminal blows fuses at a furious rate...

Elections:  Paul Heckbert is up for membership, and MJH is up for associate membership.
Both were elected unanamously.  RMF, GMR,  and Olin Sibert
were nominated for associate membership.

Other:  Chineese dinner in New York next Monday.

Applications:  $450 autoed,  $155 given, $300 deferred, $605 total given.

Sohn (for SCC):  $50 to analyze Strat's Rat data.  Given.

Alan Wechsler:  $50 to learn Multics.  Given.

Kahn:  $300 for SPSS data crunching on the 370.  Deferred for more information.
