MEETING OF MONDAY DECEMBER 18TH, 1978 The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by OTA. .break In attendance were Sol, Alan, BIM, RLL, BEE, RK, CWH, CAH, OTA, GMP, HWC, CBF, TK, archy, RDM, and PAE. Late were Naha, RMP, JIS, PMF, DLW, and BSG. The minutes of the previous week's meeting were not yet available due to the end of term crunch. Treasurer's Report: We have spent $3762 on Multics so far this month. We have $2469 in the checking account. The phone bills have come in. Chairman's Report: There is no chairman and no vice-chairman. CRD was invited to a users meeting with Jean Bonney. Office Report: RDM fixed the office spider. The IBM Executive Typewriter was sold for $275 to a secretary in building 9 (Fran Stefan, 9-435, 3-7281). KLE called IBM to have to fixed instead of Mass Business Machines. We are trying to straighten this out. The office was waxed. SIPBTEXT log sheets should be filed in the blue folder. We got our shelves from the keypunch room. (Naha came in at this time.) Multics Report: GMP is now officially off Insight. BSG got a Teleray 1061 for his home. (RMP came in at this point.) 370 Report: null(). ECS Report: null(). CS Report: null(). SIPBTEXT Report: null(). Telecommunications Report: The Baker House terminal was moved to the basement. The left hand Student Center terminal is still dead. IPS will give us 4 1200 baud lines and 1 9600 baud line to the Student Center. It will cost us $300 per month. There will be no extra service charge to the users. There was a motion to buy 8 or 10 Black Box Modems depending on whether or not there is a price break. The motion passed. There was a motion to pay to have up to 12 pairs of wires to the Student Center put in by Telecommunications. The motion passed. RAR called CISL and asked about getting a Chaos Net connection. There was a motion to buy a Printronix Printer with a graphics option for $5730. This leaves us $3800 left without using any checking account money. The motion passed. Senior House sent us a check for next terms terminal fee. We will send it back. There was a discussion of buying an office terminal. How to use the Student Center phone for the Vadic was explained. (JIS, PMF, DLW, and BSG came in during this.) Publications Report: null(). IAP Report: We should finish the Lisp Book soon.
