Treasurer's report:
.br
It looks as if we are underspending. It is not irrevocable trend,
however.

.ti 0
Chairman's report:
.br
No chairman (he is in California). There was not an EC meeting this
past week because the slide show ran too long. It will be decided in the
future if a meeting is necessary.

Office report:
.br
Only diablo output should be placed in the Office SIPBTEXT bin.
Leave all of the SIPBTEXT output from the dispatch folder where it is.
The office acquired a dog last week on a trial basis. He was
flushed.
Please use the office log for all official business.
The list of SIPB office keyholders has been corrected and returned
to the center.
The LA36 ribbon-threading diagrams have arrived and will be
distributed. Much thanks to DPC for putting all of the remaining
identification stickers on our terminals.
The office has ED's old Nevada license plate "FOOBAR".

Multics report:
.br
The Honeywell Billerica documentation group has decided to use
Multics for their documentation after seeing an emacs demo. Read_mail
and send_mail have been submitted for installation! Multics APL is
much improved, according to KLE. PL/1 will soon not write over your
source program! CAH wrote a graphics dim for the Okidata printer, but
we did not get to test it as Multics was down. CAH offered micro-fiche
copies of the hardcore listings for public purchase. The membership
voted not to buy one, as they will be expensive.

ECS report:
.br
The Tech Show people approached us about advertising the show to our
ECS users via the login message. The concensus was not to advertise the
show. Charging for ECS manuals seems to keep people from coming in for
a new one each day.

SIPBTEXT report:
.br
We let a user use emacs (by disabling the lss) last week. GMP made
a motion that we sould let people use emacs now, as we have tested the
lss for the center sufficiently. Passed.
RLL moved terminals this past week. SPE => AEPi (LA36), PSK ->
ChiPhi (tty43), PDT -> Student House (LA36).
Joe Connors wants copies of all of our transaction on 13608.
Please put a copy in his mailbox when you write a requisition. The
service contract for the TTY43's has been signed.
Baker has agreed to pay us for the damage to their terminal, and
is sending us the contract for the next year.
The Vadic was sent back for repair.
The Okidata printer was demonstrated today. The 125 lpm printer
costs $3900, 250 lpm costs $5300. The 125 lpm version seemed to be
quiet enough for the library. However, we could not get it to
overstrike or mix graphics and text. We would also need to burn our own
alternate character set proms.

Publications report:
.br
We got updates for the Multics PL/1 and FORTRAN manuals. Our LA36
document needs to be updated. We have many left over MACLISP discout
slips, which is bad. We should try to push them somehow. The
membership extracted promises from BSG and CWH to work on the LISP
Book.

.ti 0
IAP report:
.br
The programming contest is over. The DSSR group won running on Unix.
We will supply them with a set of Knuth. We have found that the Center
sometimes added extra IAP courses to our mealtickets without our
permission. There were only two contestants in the plotting contest.
The MIT team won the regional ACM programming contest.
