Minutes of the Meeting of July 23, 1979. Meeting called to order at 19:41 Minutes for the last three meetings were read and approved. In attendance: PAE, DGH, RMP, WOS, ALAN, PENNY, ACW, RDM, SHS, Jane Devlin, Bill Harper, GMP, RLL, JIS, CAH, BSG, ZRM, DPC and CWH. Treasurer's Report: We've spent $2182.65 so far this year. Chairman's Report: Chairman is tired. Office Report: Office is not as messy as last week. Help keep it clean. Multics Report: Multics was down for 35 hours due to hardware problems. Experimental probe is being used by many Multicians. HI-Multics will be on the ARPA net as of next week. CAH and BSG are traveling to Minneapolis to help with this venture. 370 Report: Tapes written for the 370 cause trouble for Multics when they are read into Multics. ECS Report: () CS Report: () Telecommunications Report: The chairs arrived and were transported to the Student Center. The salesman from Bartlett was here and looked at the noisy spinwriter. He was here demonstrating a Chromatics Graphics terminal. Cost for one that would be useful to us would be $11,500. Publications Report: Need for more CMS documentation in the Student Center and the Office. R/O week Report: BIM and ACW have formed the group for the annual SIPB computer tour. Neal Lippeman contacted the SIPB about having a speaker at the Computer Orientation. CAH reminded us of the things that the board has to do during R/O Week. These include Grad Student get together in Killian Court, Activities Midway, and the SIPB Computer Tour. Other: Penny is going to start persuading people to help write the Annual Report. Applications: $885 total given. $735 Student, $150 370/TROLL WMBR given $400 as below. Elliot given $150 on the 370/TROLL. $335 Student autoed. Other Other: Jules Gilbert appeared on the front page of Computerworld. A letter arrived from BEE in Austria. Dan and Charity are in Europe. The Math Department now has 2 new LA120s. ***User Interrupt: A person from WMBR showed up to discuss the WMBR (WTBS) application for $400 for this fiscal year. Given $400 for this year. Other Other (cont): KMP has programs were a person can type in a text file and have it transformed into a paper tape suitable for THE TECH's typesetting equipment. Meeting adjourned at 20:27.
