Minutes of the SIPB Meeting of 10/22/79 The meeting was called to order at 19:30 by CAH. In attendance were J. Taft,ARCHY,Newton Loui,NAHA,KHS,RDM,HGA, RLL,BSG,Wendy,GMP,GHuber,PENNY,Alan,ZRM,and CAH. Also 3 users. Barry Margolin and CRD came in late. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted. User Interupt: *****Steve Hazelrick $40 for ACM programming contest. Given $40 by office vote. *****Theta Xi wants an additional $50 for continuing support of their fraternity accounting system on Multics. Given $50 by office vote. *****Mark Friedman wants an additional $150 to do his humanities thesis on Multics. Rejected by aclamamtion with our sympathies to the user Treasurer's Report: We've spent $936.81 this past week and $3151.17 so far this month. Motion to pay Computerworld $25 for continuing the subscription to the SIPB. Passed. Chairman's Report: () Office Report: Please sign notes and put date and times on all messages that you take. KTOC. ARCHY is missing his bicycle pump. People should check the office membership lists. Multics Report: Multics will be getting some more CORE memory before December 1st, GMP reports. Instructions on how to print the quality_print queues. The queues are now back and working. A newer version of PASCAL will be on Multics within the work. Bernie gave a talk on EMACS at Holushua in California this past week. The cost until the center supports the quality printer, will be 5 cents per page. 370 Report: The 3850 mass-storage device has been delayed for quite a while. ECS Report: () CS Report: () Telecommunications Report: There are two broken telerays at the student center. There is a broken coupler at Chi Phi and a broken LA36 at Burton. Publications Report: NETS have appeared in the office. We are also running low on Form B's. Annual Report Report: Still lacking a telecommunications report for the annual report. Elections: There were only 8 voting members at the meeting and bothe nominees were not elected. HGA 5 for,3 abstain. KHS 7 for, 1 abstain. People who didn't show are censored for not showing up at the meeting. Nominations: HGA and KHS were renominated to membership. John Taft (TAFT) was nominated to membership. Elections will be held next week. Other: Please cleanup MC:SIPB; its getting full again. Harriet in the Humanities Dept. is in charge of the Micro-Minds this year and will be running an ad telling students that text-processing is available on their machines.
