Dear Class,
1-The final term project reports for the whole class  are due on Wednesday, Dec. 5th.

2-We will have final project presentations on Wednesday Dec 5th and Monday Dec 10th.

Please send your presentation slides (whole class) to Tzu-Yang  no later than Tuesday evening..
 5 students will present on Wednesday 5th, and 4 on Monday 10th. Everyone will have 15 minutes for presentation followed by 3 minutes for discussion/question. We will start timely at 1:05pm. each session. The planned sequence of presenatations are as follows: Dec 5th: Zenzile, Valerie, Serge, Pierre, and Ariane. Dec 10th: Jen,Simon, Ali, and Phil. Please let me know if there is any problem. See you in class today.

The schedule for the rest of the term will be as follows.

1. Test #2 will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 28th, 2007.  From 1pm to 2:25pm. This will be an open-book/open-notes exam. It will cover biaxial bending, joints, torsion, yield line theory, and cylindrical shells.

2. Your HW#5 (the last HW) is due on Wednesday, Nov. 21st. The graded homeworks will be returned to you on Monday, Nov. 26th.

3. Your final presentations will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5th, and Monday, Dec. 10th. The final reports are due on Wednesday, Dec. 5th. I will assume that everyone will be prepared for presentation on Dec. 5th. Please send your presentation files to Tzu-Yang by Tuesday, Dec. 4th, 5pm. He will organize the presentations.

4. There will be no classes on Monday, Nov. 19th, and Wednesday, Nov. 21st. We have already held make-up classes for those two periods.

5. On Monday, Nov. 26th, there will be a special class on prestressed concrete structures.

Dear Class,

I am referring to question 4 which is about the drawing cross-sectional final strain distributions for t = 13 months. You may answer this question for only Branson's method. I will leave the answer with effective modulus as an optional (not required) question.
