Participation scores and Final (numeric and letter) grade in LMOD

Dear Students,

Scores are now visible in LMOD for both Participation and Final Course Grade for SCM.250. Some explanation follows below:

1. Class Participation – Faculty rated all student’s participation as either Low, Average, or High. Almost all students received a rating of Average which was given an A:B neutral grade of 90. A few students were rated as High (score of 100 and a small number of students were rated as Low (score of 80).
2. Final Course Grade – prior to scaling, the overall course scores ranged from a low of 78.35 to a high of 94.8. Dr. Bruce Arntzen scaled the scores, so they now stretch from a low of 78.35 to a high of 97.5 – the top student received an A+. This resulted in about 46% A’s, 51% B’s, and 3% C’s.
3. The cutoffs for the letter grades were A+97.5, A92.5, A-89.5, B+87.5, B82.5, B-79.5

Lastly, it was a pleasure being your TA for SCM.250. The best of luck to you all!

Best regards,
Juan S. Lemus-Esquivel
