An Announcement from a fellow Classmate....
Dear Class,
This has been a great semester with you all! I just wanted to let everyone know of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Innovation Day (MALSI) 2011 to be held on June 2nd. MALSI Day (http://www.mattcenter.org/malsi-day-2011/home.html ) is the biggest day for life sciences startups and innovation in the State of Massachusetts. This event is jointly organized by MBC, CIMIT, TiE-Boston and Mass Medical Angels.
A key feature of MALSI Day is the MALSI poster session. It is a great forum to represent the work of young entrepreneurs. We hope that the poster session will bring fundamental advances in research to a broader audience and help set the compass for where the industry could go in the future. Last year's poster session was hugely popular, posters were judged by a panel of external judges and the 3 best posters were awarded "MALSI cash". More information about the poster session can be found here: http://www.mattcenter.org/malsi-day-2011/posters.html
I wanted to reach out to you for the following:
Invite you to attend MALSI 2011 at the Harvard Club of Boston! The link to registration is : http://www.mattcenter.org/malsi-day-2011/home.html
Encourage you (or anyone you know) to present your work at the MALSI poster session. All you would need to do ahead of time is fill in the poster application available here : http://www.mattcenter.org/malsi-day-2011/posters.html and email it to to jgoldberg@umassp.edu by Friday 5/17 (Monday).
Please do not hesitate to contact me at mandrita_datta@hms.harvard.edu should you have questions or need additional information.
I look forward to seeing you at MALSI!
Sincerely,
Mandrita

Final Class...
Good Morning Everyone,
I hope you had a great weekend. I just wanted to remind everyone that tomorow's class will feature Henri Termeer of Genzyme. Please make sure to arrive on-time as well as prepare thoughtful questions for our speaker.
A note to first years in the class interested in Finance: If you take advanced corporate finance as well as entrepeneurial finance, Genzyme is featured in multiple case studies due to their innovative financing strategies that were groundbreaking at that time. It is a rare opportunity in such an intimate setting to have someone who has made such a large impact in both healthcare and finance. Therefore, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of having Henri join our class.
Also - on a seperate note - Professor Zarur is personally grading all of the final assignments and will be providing detailed feedback to each of the teams.
Regards,
-Aaron
