Hi Class,

for those that want to do the design with two materials, I have uploaded a PDF with some guidance about how to navigate trough auto cad when working with layers.

Design for 3D printing

Hi Class,

as preparation for Tuesday's seminar, I have added to stellar a very simple instructions sheet so you can create your own design to 3D print it on Tuesday. You can do any "resealable" shape you want, but please remember that maximum dimensions should be ½ x ½ x ½ inches, so we can print it during class.

Mar 7: Geoffrey von Maltzahn

Reminder: Geoffrey von Maltzahn is our speaker for class today. Geoffrey is the cofounder and CIO of Indigo, an agriculture company that optimizes plant health using microbes. He got his S.B. in Chemical Engineering and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at MIT. At MIT, Geoffrey won the Lemelson-MIT student prize for innovation. He has over 100 patents and has received over 20 awards for invention.

Geoffrey is a special guest visiting the department, so it is important to attend class today. Additionally, we are inviting the rest of the department to attend Geoffrey's lecture (class will still be held in 1-371).
