Final Problem Set Posted

Hi Everyone,

The final problem set of the semester (Problem Set #3) has been posted to Stellar. The problem set is due next Tuesday but we are willing to grant an extension for the following week if you need the additional time.

The medical device lecture slides from last night have also been posted and should be helpful for you on this assignment.

REMINDER: Midterm Negotiation in Tomorrow's Class (4/25)

Hi Everyone,

This is a reminder that we will be holding our Midterm Negotiation in class tomorrow starting at 5:30. Teams will negotiate for 1 hour and 45 minutes and we will regroup at 7:30 to discuss the results.

We hope that you have all had a chance to discuss with your negotiation counter-party to verify that you have similar assumptions leading up to the negotiation. As a reminder, you will need to bring two printed copies of your Midterm memo which should include:

• 2 page negotiation strategy
• Table of assumptions and explanation/rationale for each
• Screenshot of the unsolved and solved versions of your team's tree
• A table of values for each of the variables in your tree
• A summary of your financial model showing revenues and costs by year and NPV calculations
• Screenshot of the expected tree from the opposing team
• Description of the key parameters that affect your decision model and sensitivity analysis around each one of them

Week 5 Class Cancelled

As many of you know, Class 5 has been cancelled for this evening due to the snow storm and closure of MIT's facilities until tomorrow.

Week 4 Announcements

Hi Everyone,

Homework 2 will be due at the beginning of class this Tuesday (Project Progress Reports are NOT due this week). You should be submitting a memo (hard-copy) that includes the following:

- Table of assumptions and explanation/rationale for each assumption
- Screenshot of the solved versions of your team's tree
- A table of values for each of the variables in your tree
- A summary of your financial model showing revenues and costs by year and NPV calculations
- Description of the key parameters that affect your decision model
- Sensitivity analysis for key parameters that affect your model outcomes

As a general reminder, please continue to abide by Sloan values and refrain from using electronics during class (i.e., laptops, tablets, mobile phones).

Finally, a short article has been posted to Stellar regarding drug discovery failure in preparation for Tuesday's lecture on clinical trial design.
