10.34 Quiz 1 & Review
Hello Class,
The first Quiz of 10.34 will take place in Walker Memorial (50-340) on Monday (October 15) from 8-10 AM. It will be open notes, and no computer(or any devices with internet capability) is allowed. The test will cover linear algebra and equations solving (up to HW 3), but not optimization.
There will also be a review session on Friday (October 12) in 66-110 from 4:30 to 6 PM. Feel free to bring your questions to the session. As a result, the regular office hour from 10 AM to noon will be canceled.
Good luck with the Quizzes!

10.34 First Day II
Extending the welcome a bit, and adding a couple more
points:
- Please read the syllabus, homework submission guidelines, and
homework philosophy posted under 'Materials'.
- We'll hold our first office hours after class on Friday in 66-110 (tentatively). Throughout the semester, we'll generally use the Friday office hours to go over the material covered in lecture, and we'll take questions about the current homework assignment during Monday's office hours. Office hours are optional, of course, and you're welcome to email us questions as well.

10.34 First Day
Hello Class,
welcome to 10.34! Just some reminders regarding office hours and the Matlab tutorial.
welcome to 10.34! Just some reminders regarding office hours and the Matlab tutorial.
- Office hours will be Moday 10am-noon and Friday 10am-noon. This is so far the optimal schedule as a result of coordinating with other core classes. If neither of the schedule works for you, please come and talk to the TAs. Office hour location will be updated once the room assignment is given by the department headquarter.
- There will be a Matlab tutorial on Thursday (09/06/2012) from 5pm - 6pm in room 66-110. The goal is to cover some basic topics in Matlab for those who are not familiar with the software. You may bring your laptop to the session if you like. The installation of Matlab is fairly straightforward by following the instructions on this webpage: http://web.mit.edu/student-matlab/
- If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to let the instructors or TAs know!
Cheers,
Xiaoxiang & Kamil
