Hi all:

I encourage you to test your color selections used in your maps before you do your final presentation. A good starting point for map color schemes is Cynthia Brewer's ColorBrewer. The original version (1.0) includes an icon that indicates whether a given pallet is "projector safe". It's not as good as actually seeing how the map looks when projected on a screen but it should get you on the right path.

We are almost there!

Please review the instructions below carefully to make sure you are prepared for the presentations next week.  Please let the team know if you have any questions.  


PRESENTATION
Please arrive 30 minutes early to pin up your poster.  This means 2 PM Monday, 3:30 PM Wednesday or 9:30 AM Thursday depending on the day you are scheduled to present.

FINAL PROJECT
Make sure to upload your FINAL PROJECT to STELLAR by 8 AM the DAY of YOUR presentation!  This means 8 AM on the 10th, 12th or the 13th depending on the day you are scheduled to present. Please upload either POWERPOINT or PDF.  We absolutely need digital copies for grading as well as displaying your amazing work on the DUSP web site. This is a great opportunity to show off all your hard work.

POSTER
1- Please create a 24" x 36 " POSTER of your project (preferably portrait for easier pin up).  
2- Upload your POSTER to Stellar by 8 AM on the day of your presentation along with your FINAL PROJECT.
2- PLOT your POSTER and bring it with you on the day of your presentation.  We will pin up ALL of the POSTERs during the 30 minutes prior to the start of the presentations.
3- Make sure to PLOT your poster several hours before your presentation - ideally the night before.  Plotters often get long queues at the end of the semester and each plot takes much longer than a printer.  
    - Use one of the CRON Plotters for a small fee (P10-485, P7-433-A, P7-433-B, P7-433-C or P9-235)  (NOTE - P9-235 costs a little less, but 'may' print with slightly less quality)  
    - Make sure to PLOT PDF only.  
    - It may help to PLOT during CRON office hours, in case you experience any problems and need support.  
    - You may want/need to reprint, so allow time for having to PLOT more than once.

Hi all:

Exercise 6 grades are posted on Stellar. Also, there are four hours of office hours today to help you with you final project. Eric will be in the computer lab next to CRON from 1:30 to 3:30. Alex will be in the building 37 lab from 6 to 8. On a related note, Lab 3 has a mandatory lab session from 4 to 6.
