Hello All, By now you will have gotten pretty deeply into this book and will realize that it is long and discursive. The trick here is to pull out the main arguments. Unfortunately, they are not simply concentrated in one part of the book. So what you have to do is figure out the main line of argument and as you delve into each section make a judgment as to whether that section really matters...if not, move on. Part Six, some of Part Eight, and some of Part IX can be skated over rather quickly, for example. Do pay attention when he discusses "Diplomacy." It means a lot to him, more than the dictionary definition.
