Blank Exams Posted

Hey, everyone

I've posted blank copies of this year's midterm Exams 1 and 2, in case you want to use them to study from. Vox populi, vox dei.

Equation Sheets & Review Session

Hey, class!

The end is so nigh, I can almost taste it! But you shouldn't worry, because you are all very smart and (most importantly) you have all put MONUMENTAL amounts of work into this class. It's all about to pay off, so let's push through the finish-line dash!

For the final, you'll all be getting the same equation sheet that you know and love from Exam 1. Remember, though, that the most fundamental equations (stuff like free energy) should already be second nature to you.

We will hold normal office hours this week (Tue, Wed), and Friday's 2-3pm recitation will be extended into a review session. We're gonna plan for 2-4pm, but this will be a question-driven session, so come prepared to ask lots of stuff or to leave early. (We WILL make sure to stick around at least till three, since we know that some of you can't make it before then and your review session shouldn't hinge on the inquisitiveness of your peers). If you can't make it to those time slots, please pay us a visit during our office hours earlier in the week, or write us to set up a meeting.

Remember to study in many short sessions, not in a single one at the end, and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, do NOT pull an all-nighter studying right before the final. You're better off sleeping well and not studying at all than turning your brain into sleep-deprived mush for test day.

Cheers,
Daniel

PSet Catalog now available!

Hey, everyone!

We have a special treat for you, as you're starting to implement your study plans. :D

Under Suggested Problems, I've just posted a catalog (compiled by our lovely Allison) of all the problems assigned in the last 3 years. Think of this as an index to all the problems, with a brief description of their topic, required platform (paper, python, matlab), and appropriate use. It should help you decide where to best put your efforts.

Good luck! You're almost done!

server back; terminate don't disconnect

The server is back.
To make sure that everyone has access to the server, please do not "disconnect" your sessions. "Terminate" them instead.
We will periodically kill off disconnected sessions to free up resources.
