Subject Description:
Chemical and physical properties of the cell and its building blocks. Structures of proteins and principles of catalysis. The chemistry of organic/inorganic cofactors required for chemical transformations within the cell. Basic principles of metabolism and regulation in pathways, including glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, fatty acid synthesis/degradation, pentose phosphate pathway, Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation. DNA replication transcription and translation are not covered in this course (see 5.08 for these topics).

Final Exam Information
Hi 5.07,The final exam for 5.07 will be Thursday, December 20 from 1:30-4:30 pm in Johnson Track.
We will have two sessions to help you prepare for the
final:
1) Q&A Session, December 18 (Tuesday), 7-9 pm in 6-120
2) Review Session, December 19 (Wednesday), 6-8 pm in 32-155
Please come to either or both sessions as your schedule allows!
